Update 24/03/2016 - 14h00

Dear Business Partner

Further to our communications of Tuesday this week after the terrible events in Brussels, we would like to inform you about the current status of operations at Brussels Airport and within the Brussels Area.

As Kuehne + Nagel, we remain primarily focused on the safety and well-being of our staff and in supporting the local authorities with coordinated operational activities.
With this focus we can properly serve our clients in the most optimal way.

Airfreight: Brussels Airport has informed us that although the airport remains closed for all passenger flights through today and tomorrow, cargo only flights are now allowed to operate based on specific aprons being in operation.  Brucargo area is open and fully operational however all other airport access roads and entrances remain closed.

We have confirmation that the first cargo flights with a number of our airline partners will already operate this evening and into tomorrow.  We expect that full capacity will only be reached after the coming holiday weekend and await further information.

Our Ground Handling Partners for the Cargo only flights are also operational, however only freight that is booked on a planned flight will be accepted.  Our Cargo team is managing the situation and are fully contactable via the normal communication channels.

General: Collections and Deliveries in the Brussels area are now being conducted and although security continues at a high level the operations are running effectively.

Thank you once more for your patience, understanding and continued support during the past days.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies remain with all the families and friends of the victims of the attacks in Brussels.
