Caroline’s Kuehne + Nagel journey started in 2005 as one of the first members during the operational start-up of Integrated Logistics. She became the Team Leader for the French Market and also took care for additional customer accounts.
“Starting up from scratch was a huge but very exciting challenge those early days. Working days often had up to 12 hours or more, so quite some pizzas had to be ordered for the people still sitting at their desk during night-hours. As all processes and systems first had to be developed this led to many opportunities to bring in own ideas and to grow with all those challenges.”
But working for Kuehne + Nagel did not only bring professional satisfaction, it also changed her private life.
“Like in a fairy tale I found my other half, Tilo Becker, by working together. We got married in 2010 and started our own family. After two kids it was still very clear for me that I wanted to get back to work after my parental breaks otherwise I would miss an important factor in my life: the contact with my colleagues and my counterparts at customer- and also carrier-side, where many of them even became friends. As a good work/life balance is really important for me, I was so happy that Kuehne + Nagel offered me a part-time solution as member of the Customer Service-Team. This way I can combine best of both worlds!”
For Caroline and her husband, Kuehne + Nagel became more than simply an employer. It became an important and huge part of their lives.
